This committee provides financial and voluntary support for projects designed for the youngest members of our society: newborn to five years of age.
There are so many children in need and so many ways to help. YCPO project ideas fall into four categories—maternal and infant health, child care and development, parent education and support, and safety and pediatric trauma. If children’s needs in our community don’t fit these areas, we are free to innovate.
Specific activities the committee has completed in the past include developing and leading a statewide effort to supply baby bibs with the slogan “Love me, Never Shake me” to hospitals and child care organizations in the area, sponsoring swimming programs for young children, building playgrounds, book reading programs, and helping at events for disabled children.
